D2L News Tool (Announcements)

The News/ Announcement tool in D2L allows you to post announcements in the course to communicate fresh information, changes and set reminders for students. Watch this video to get an overview of the tool or click here to learn how to use this feature effectively.

Consider adding Quicklinks to your announcement to take students directly to specific sections in the course and point them to just what they need.

1. Highlight section of the text you would like to hyperlink.
2. Click on the Insert Quicklink icon on the Content toolbar.
3. Select the item within the course you would like to point students to directly.
4. Click Publish to post the News item.
